Resistance Band Muscle

Exercises with resistance bands provide all the free weight exercises, and more. How? The disadvantage of using free weights is that most work is performed when you start to move the weight. At the moment the move is complete momentum has taken over some of it. In the exercise resistance bands is the opposite. The resistance of the tube increases with its length, meaning that as you push through the motion of the work actually gets more difficult. Pushing the muscles to work even harder.
Beyond the training benefits of fitness bands is the advantage of its portability and lightweight design. They are easy to store at home, and take with you on vacation or a business trip. There are two main types available, closed loop and open loop strips. The bands are generally closed loop more expensive, as they often come with handles and accessories, while open-loop strips are just a hand on their own that must hold directly.
Example Resistance Band Exercises
Chest Press
- Make sure the band is involved or connected to something safe, behind you (some kits come with a resistance band door anchor)
- Keep handles (ends), one in each hand, with the tube running in your armpits
- With palms facing each other in compression of the chest and press your arms out in front of you
This works the chest muscles, and is similar to a bench press with a bar bell or dumbbell, except in a standing position.
Overhead press
- Place both feet on the upper center of the tube.
- Grab a handle (end in each hand) and put their hands over head
- Palms should face each other and your elbows slightly bent
This is a great shoulder exercise, and similar to a shoulder press with dumbbells
Bicep Curl
- Similar to the overhead press instead of your feet on the center of the tube (the wider your feet are separated more resistance you have to exercise)
- Hold both ends of the tube in separate hands
- Bend elbows and hands up to shoulders curvature
This exercise is the same as a bicep curl with free weights.
These are just three examples, but in each case to obtain the same movement and isolate the same muscle groups, while increasing resistance through the movement. Exercise bands provide a large sculpture training in a very portable and affordable package.
