Resistance Bands Vs Free Weights

Free weights vs. bands weighted?

I just trade a few extra bucks my friend was not using a machine with weight bands. Has the butterfly that I have, which is a plus and has the option of several workouts upper body. Would it be able to gain mass, strength, or simply cut with this machine. I felt a burn when I tried it and it felt great. I have always used free weights and are still used, just wanted to know I can still win if mass weighting with the bands, if I have a high resistance fixed weight?

Resistance is resistance and therefore does not matter if your gravity base (free weights) or resistance of a spring (Bowflex) or any other type of resistance. Its all about making the right moves and the proper amount of exercise and keep underway. Personally I prefer free weights, because you can do many more different types of exercises and get a better range of motion. (for example with arms very long and I think most of the machines are set only to people with body parts of medium size and still I think its restrictive to achieve a full range of motion)
